The United African Institute of Technology (UAIT) has officially submitted a proposal to the Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) to establish a 1-year AI Technology Certificate Program aimed at preparing youth for the digital economy.

“This certificate program has been designed not just for classroom theory, but for real-world impact,” said the UAIT authorities. “Our goal is to equip Rwandan youth to become AI innovators and solution builders across key sectors like agriculture, health, education, and public service.”
The curriculum aligns with Rwanda’s digital transformation agenda and promotes inclusive, ethical, and locally relevant use of AI. Though official RTB approval is still pending, UAIT has already begun preparing for implementation, including outreach to students, institutions, and industry partners.
An interest registration form is now available for young people and organizations who would like to stay informed or participate in the pilot phase once launched.
